Overview

Zenith is a daily puzzle game for iPhone, made by Sweet Action Labs. The puzzle itself is built to need nothing: it makes no network requests, has no accounts, and keeps everything it remembers on your own device.

There is one exception, and it is the honest reason this policy exists. Levels four and up are opened either by watching a short advert or by a one-time purchase, and adverts are served by Google AdMob, which does collect information about your device. This policy sets out exactly what, why, and how to say no.

The short version. We collect nothing about you. Your progress never leaves your phone. Google's advertising service collects a device advertising identifier and estimates your rough location from your internet address; you can decline that when the app asks, and the game plays identically either way.

Information we collect

Stored on your device only

Zenith saves the following on your iPhone, using the app's own local storage. None of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see any of it:

  • Progress — which levels you have cleared each day, and your best time on each
  • The board in progress — the field you are part-way through, so closing the app does not lose it
  • Preferences — whether sound is muted
  • Gate state — whether today's advert has been watched, and whether the ad-free unlock has been purchased

Collected by Google AdMob

Adverts in Zenith are served by Google AdMob. When an advert is requested, Google may collect and use:

  • A device advertising identifier — used for advertising and analytics purposes, including measuring and personalising adverts
  • Internet address — used to estimate the general location of the device
  • Advertising activity — which adverts were shown, and interactions with them
  • Diagnostics — crash logs and performance data relating to Google's own advertising software

Google acts as an independent party in collecting this, and third parties may set or read identifiers on your device as a result of an advert being served. What Google does with it is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, and the partners involved are listed at Google's advertising partners page.

Purchases

The ad-free unlock is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple. Payment is processed by the App Store; Zenith never receives, sees or stores your card number, billing address, or Apple Account details. All the app learns is whether this Apple Account owns the unlock.

Sharing a result

Finishing a level offers a Share button, which hands a line of text to the iOS share sheet. You choose who receives it, in whichever app you pick. Zenith transmits nothing itself, keeps no contact list, and stores no addresses.

What we do not collect

  • No name, email address, phone number or postal address
  • No account — there is nothing to sign in to
  • No analytics or crash reporting of our own
  • No contacts, photos, microphone, camera or precise location
  • No health, financial or biometric data

Your choices about advertising

The tracking prompt

The first time an advert is needed, iOS asks whether Zenith may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. This governs access to your device advertising identifier for personalised advertising.

Declining changes nothing about the game. Every level, every feature and every puzzle behaves identically; adverts simply become less relevant. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and you can turn off personalised advertising entirely with Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland

Before any advert is requested, Zenith presents Google's consent form, which asks whether adverts may be personalised and names the partners involved. If you do not consent, no advert is requested at all — and because the game opens the level regardless, refusing costs you nothing.

You can change that answer whenever you like. Once you have been asked once, an Ad privacy button appears at the bottom of the app's main screen, and it reopens the same form.

If you are in a United States state with an opt-out

A number of United States states give residents the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information for targeted advertising. Where you are in one of them, the Ad privacy button described above opens Google's opt-out instead — the same button, the appropriate form for where you are. Choosing “Don't sell or share my data” there stops Zenith's adverts being personalised from that point on.

Removing adverts entirely

The one-time purchase turns adverts off permanently, on any device signed in to the same Apple Account.

Permissions

Zenith requests no device permissions — no camera, no microphone, no contacts, no location services, no notifications. The only prompt it shows is the tracking prompt described above, and that is a system prompt about advertising rather than a device permission.

Data security

Everything Zenith stores stays in the app's own storage on your device, protected by iOS's app sandbox and by your device passcode or biometric lock. Because we operate no servers and receive no data from the app, there is no account of yours for us to lose.

Data retention and deletion

Your progress remains on your device until you delete it. Deleting Zenith removes all of it — progress, best times, preferences and gate state — permanently. The app's own “Clear progress” control does the same for your play history without removing the app.

Purchase records are held by Apple rather than by us, and are governed by Apple's terms. Data collected by Google in serving adverts is retained by Google under its own policy, and can be managed at My Ad Center.

Children's privacy

Zenith is a general-audience puzzle game. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Zenith is not part of Apple's Kids Category. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us at the address below and we will act on it — though as set out above, the app collects nothing about anyone.

Your privacy rights

California and other United States states

We do not collect personal information, so there is nothing of yours for us to disclose, correct or delete, and we do not sell or share personal information. Advertising identifiers collected by Google in the course of serving adverts may constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law, and the equivalent under the laws of other states.

Three separate things opt you out of it, and any one of them is enough: declining the tracking prompt, choosing “Don't sell or share my data” from the Ad privacy button in the app, or buying the ad-free unlock. We do not knowingly process the personal information of anyone under 16 for targeted advertising.

Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom (General Data Protection Regulation)

Where personal data is processed in serving adverts, the legal basis is your consent, collected through the form described above, and you may withdraw it at any time from the Ad privacy button in the app. Sweet Action Labs holds no personal data about you, so requests for access, rectification, erasure or portability are best directed to Google, which does. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Everyone

You can stop all data collection described here by declining the tracking prompt, by declining or withdrawing consent from the Ad privacy button, by buying the ad-free unlock, or by deleting the app.

Third-party links

Adverts may lead to websites and apps we do not operate. What happens there is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and material changes will be surfaced in the app.

Summary

The puzzle is yours and stays on your phone. The adverts are Google's, they take a device identifier and a rough location, and you can turn them off — with a prompt, with a consent form, or with a purchase. We never see any of it.
