1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using That Key ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Service description

That Key helps you keep a private record of your keys: photos, names, notes, where each key is kept, and, if you choose, the lock it opens and where that lock is. Everything is stored on your device. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what is stored and what, if anything, leaves your phone.

3. That Key Unlimited

  • That Key Unlimited is a yearly auto-renewing subscription, sold through the App Store. The price is shown in the App before you buy, and payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • It renews automatically each year unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the period.
  • You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Unlimited until the end of the period you paid for.
  • If the subscription ends, you keep everything you saved. An active subscription is only needed to add new keys. Nothing you have already saved is locked, hidden or deleted.
  • Purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple through Report a Problem.

4. Your keys and your device

That Key is a record-keeping tool, not a security product.

  • Keep your phone secure. The App adds its own Face ID, Touch ID or passcode lock, but anyone who can unlock your phone and the App can see your keys. Use a device passcode.
  • Backups are yours to keep. We hold no copy of your data. If you lose or replace your phone without an encrypted backup, your saved keys cannot be recovered. Backup files are protected with a passphrase you choose; if you forget it, no one, including us, can open the file.
  • Share with care. A clear photo of a key can be enough to copy it. Share keys only with people you trust.

5. Locations and addresses

Map spots and addresses are only as accurate as your device's location service and Apple's map service. Do not rely on them where accuracy matters, and do not save locations for property you are not entitled to access.

6. Permissions

The App asks for the camera, optional location while using the App, and Face ID. These are used only as described in our Privacy Policy. You may revoke them at any time in your device settings, though this will limit what the App can do.

7. User responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Only record keys and locks you are entitled to hold or use.
  • Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

That Key is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for lost, stolen or copied keys, lockouts, or loss of data stored on your device.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sweet Action Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for That Key Unlimited in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Apple and the App Store

These Terms are between you and Sweet Action Labs only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.

  • Licence: you may use the App on any Apple device you own or control, as permitted by the App Store's usage rules.
  • Support: Sweet Action Labs alone is responsible for maintaining and supporting the App. Apple has no obligation to provide support.
  • Warranty: if the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
  • Claims: Sweet Action Labs, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and intellectual property claims.
  • Legal compliance: you confirm you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo and are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Third-party beneficiary: Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the State of California.
